Lithium iron phosphate batteries use an iron-phosphate cathode chemistry that trades some energy density for long cycle life, strong thermal stability and freedom from nickel and cobalt. China holds overwhelming shares of cathode material and cell output, and its leading producers set global price benchmarks; Asia Pacific therefore dominates, while North America and Europe expand through licensed technology and joint-venture factories. The producer base is concentrated among large Chinese champions, with Korean cell makers converting lines to the chemistry and a fringe of Western specialists.
