報告摘要
The rare earth permanent magnets market covers sintered and bonded neodymium-iron-boron magnets, samarium-cobalt magnets and heavy rare earth-reduced and grain boundary diffusion grades supplied to electric vehicle traction motors, wind turbine generators, industrial motors and robotics, consumer electronics and appliances and defense, aerospace and medical devices. Rare earth mining and oxide separation are analysed as the upstream supply chain but excluded from revenue, as are ferrite magnets.
Demand is driven by electrification of transport, where each traction motor uses kilograms of magnets, by direct-drive and hybrid wind turbines, by the proliferation of robots, drones and efficient industrial motors and by defense systems. Supply is dominated by China, which processes most rare earth oxides and produces the large majority of magnets, and export controls on heavy rare earths and magnet technology have prompted governments and OEMs in the United States, Europe, Japan and India to fund separation and magnet plants, secure offtake agreements and develop recycling. Manufacturers are reducing dysprosium and terbium content, developing cerium-substituted grades and alternative motor designs, while price volatility, environmental permitting for processing and the long qualification cycles for automotive and defense magnets shape the market.
China dominates production, with Japan, Germany, the United States and Vietnam hosting non-Chinese capacity and demand spread across automotive, wind and industrial hubs globally. Competition involves Chinese magnet leaders, Japanese and European magnet manufacturers and Western supply chain entrants backed by government programs.
The InsightAce study delivers revenue forecasts in US$ across all magnet type, application and end user and regional segments for 2026-2035, alongside segment-level trend analysis, competitive landscape assessment and detailed company profiling.
