Ion exchange resins are engineered polymer beads that function to separate dissolved contaminants from liquids by using their ion exchange capability. The technology functions effectively to treat water and wastewater because it can remove three types of pollutants: inorganic ions, heavy metals, and PFAS, which are emerging contaminants.
